Swim Families-
We are very excited to be starting another season of summer swim. With everyone’s help, we hope this season will be another great year of friendly competition and learning for all of our kids. Susan Jukes is our wonderful head coach. She and her husband run the year round swim team in Centralia, so she has a lot of experience and is great with all the swimmers. Practice will start on May 31st and be every Monday-Friday unless noted otherwise on the website calendar. Here are some guidelines for practice times to help you decide when to bring your child to practice:
8 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.: Swimmers 11 and up who are proficient at all strokes (If your child is 11 or older and is not competent in all 4 strokes, please send them to the later practice for more specific instruction.)
9:15 a.m.-10 a.m.: Ages 10 and under (The coach will notify younger swimmers if they are to move to the earlier practice.)
If you have any questions about which practice your child will attend, please ask Coach Susan. Age limits are a general guideline.
This year everyone will benefit from one new feature…our website! www.salem.swim-team.us/ We are very eager to utilize this new tool to help all of our families stay informed, and to allow all of you to RSVP for meets and also volunteer to work…all online. You should be receiving another email next Friday that will give instructions on how to utilize these new features. Please make sure to check your email often during the season to stay informed about practice and the meets. We will try when possible to send emails on Fridays and Mondays, but a few may pop up during the other days. :) Also, take a minute to check out the news feed on the website to make sure you are up-to-date on everything so far.
