New Parent Meet Information
Dear Swim Families-
Suzy Hope helps run our meets by organizing the volunteers and helping make sure the meet runs smoothly. She wanted to pass on some great information to new parents to help them jump right into the swim meet process.
Before the meet starts, there will be a parent that will hand out all the event cards (pink for girls and blue for boys). These cards will tell you what races your child will be participating in at the meet. Please look through them and be familiar with the stroke and the number of the event. Veteran parents can show you how to write the events on your child's arm or foot with permanent markers to help you and the swimmer keep everything straight. Just ask anyone. :)
When the meet begins, there will be an announcer that will call out the event numbers. There will be a 1st call and a 2nd call. You will send your child to the bull pen when their event number is called, and the bull pen workers will line them up for you. It is important that you pay attention when the announcer calls numbers. Otherwise, you may miss your child's race, and we don't want to see that happen to anyone.
Ask any veteran parent for help. It can be overwhelming, but everyone is very helpful. We hope you have a great time!
